Bath Time

Last night was Ali's first bath at home.

She did very well. She did moan and groan a little, and she definitely wiggled alot.

She liked having her hair brushed.

Today Ali had her first visit to the pediatrician. They pricked her foot and got more blood taken.
Ali weighs 5 lbs 6 oz.

Home Sweet Home

We have finally reached an end of our hospital stays, and Ali is finally home.
She passed her car seat test.

We passed our "parents-are-competent-to-take-her-home" test overnight at the hospital. :)

And they said she was ok to go home.

Ali has already had her first feeding, diaper change, and nap in her new and permanent home.

We are glad that this journey has ended, but there are many more to follow...
... as well as blog posts.

A Crib Fit for a Queen

Ali is doing great she continues to improve.
She is still eating well, and she now weighs 5 lbs 4 oz.

Anyone know why her crib is made?

Ali is coming home... on Wednesday!

It snowed on Ali's first Christmas! And of all places it snowed in Alabama, which hardly happens.
We have enjoyed the pretty weather.

Today, we got to see 4 generations of family together. It was a very special moment.

Grandad Ryan (my grandfather) was in town visiting and got to go see Ali.

Ali also got to wear her first Christmas dress.

Ali is 4 lbs 15.8 oz., but we will just round up and say it's 5 pounds. :)
She is on day 3 of her countdown. We will see if she can get through her countdown without having to start over. It usually doesn't happen though.
She will be coming home soon we hope.

Christmas Eve Visit

(the closest we could get to a smile)

Ali continues to do well.
She is 4 lbs 15 oz. We may get a 5 pound baby girl for Christmas.

She ate about 85 mL's today when we fed her.
Still very cute.

 And camera shy sometimes.

Tomorrow will be a very exciting day. Make sure you watch the blog to see why.

Almost 5 lbs

Ali weights 4 lbs 14.2 oz.
She is almost 5 pounds! They sure do grow up fast.
Soon, she will be moving out ...of the NICU.

She is also approaching 2 months.

They said they would start her countdown today, but she had a brady and a Dsat early this morning.
She has to do good for 24 hours before they even start counting day one.
She is still doing well though considering she is off the caffeine as well as the nasal cannula.

Mommy took some awesome pictures of Ali and me.
She is the best. I need to make sure I get some good pictures of Ali with her as well.

Double the Weight

Ali is now double her birthweight; she weighs 4 lbs 12 oz.
She continues to eat well, and.... make stinky diapers.
She had a blow out today and we had to take home a messy blanket we had taken over there.
Yay, the joys of parenthood.

When we went to go see her tonight we found a friend that slipped into her crib with her.
The little mouse came from another baby in the NICU pod that she is in, Oliver.

More Food & More Faces

We have a big surprise for everyone; Ali is now eating about 65-70 mL every 4 hours!
She is eating alot, and she eats pretty quick.

She is not having DSAT's (desaturation of her oxygen levels in her blood) while she is eating either.
She is very awake after we feed her.
She is now 4 lbs 11.1 oz.

We have been trying to take pictures of her in her preemie outfits because she may grow out of them while she is in the hospital.

I love the ruffles on the bottoms.

They have not started her countdown yet due to her having a few clusters of DSAT's yesterday.
Hopefully she will stop having them so often and will start the countdown. (8 day countdown without having DSAT's or any brady's).

We see her make more and more faces everyday.
