A Sweet Blessing in our Life

Ali was blessed this past Sunday at church. It was a wonderful experience for all who were present.
Ali’s family from out of town and those that live in town came for the event.
Mimi made a wonderful and beautiful dress for the occasion.

We continue to pray that she may have a happy and healthy life, and that the Lord may bless her.

(More pictures to follow of Ali in her dress.)

This past week we found out that Ali has acid reflux. The same week we found this out we took her to the doctor and found out that she got a cold. She was a little fussy to say the least from having to deal with both at the same time.

A few days later mommy and daddy then got a cold. (We are not sure if it came from Ali or not.) Either way mommy and daddy are not feeling really great right now.
Last night I went to the store and stocked up on some cold medicines and supplies.
Hopefully we will recover fast.

Mimi's Birthday

This weekend we celebrated Mimi's birthday!
Allan & Suzanne came down from Hunstville.

Of course Mimi, Allan, and Suzanne got some time with Ali.

Here is one of the great moments with Uncle Allan.
(Suzanne will need to send me more pictures to include)

Today, Ali's Aunt Amy (Jodi's sister) got to hold Ali for the first time during church.
(There is no picture because we did not have the camera.)

We see more and more of Ali's fun personality everyday.
She is gaining more strength and control in her muscles.

Here she is holding herself up in the rocking chair.
Yes, it was short lived, but she did it for a little bit.

Next week Ali gets to see Uncle Austin, Krista, and Brooklyn (another cousin).
Sunday is going to be her blessing day at church.

Ali also will be going to the GI specialist and getting her last RSV shot.

All Smiles

Ali is smiling more and more these days.

Last week I was feeding Ali. Right after I fed her the rest of her bottle, I heard a noise from down under.
I lifted her up and found that her diaper did not hold everything that it should have.

We ran her to the bathroom before anything else came running out and she got a bath.

Her outfit also got an immediate wash in the sink.

One day after getting home from work, I sat down to do some homework. While I was studying, I looked up and Jodi was trying a new tactic to get Ali to wake up and get interested in eating the rest of her formula.
She started dripping formula on her head ... like this.

I laughed. The good news: she finished eating.

Ali met Grandpa Westenhofer & Grammy for the first time out of the hospital.
(We never did get a picture of Grammy holding Ali, but she got plenty of time holding and feeding her. Sorry Grammy.)

We went to the park on Saturday and grilled chicken and ate some fantastic food.

Ali chillin in her stroller.

Allan taking a bite out of his grilled chicken sandwich.

Sunday we made what we called Pouches.
We took uncooked biscuit dough from a can, and we put shredded chicken, shredded cheese, and taco seasoning in them and baked them.

Yummmy!
I put barbecue sauce on mine.

Ali now has a Winnie the Pooh mobile. Ali smiles alot when it goes.

94,608,000 Wonderful Seconds

Saturday, we celebrated our 3rd year anniversary.
(We celebrated on Saturday even though our actual anniversary is on 3/7/11)
It has been 94,608,000 seconds since we have been sealed as a family in the Birmingham Alabama Temple.

We celebrated by going on another adventure.
We went to Sips n Strokes, and it was loads of fun.

I painted a piece I saw hanging in the art gallery. It was really hard and I had to have some help from the artists there. You will see why I chose it.

I painted Vincent Van Gogh's "Almond Branches".

Ali is now 9 lbs 12 oz.
21 1/2 inches long.
Monday she went to the pediatrician for her 4 month check up, and got her 4 month shots.

Friday, she went to her follow up appointment to the physical therapist.
The PT said she is doing very well and does not appear to have any problems.
She encouraged lots of tummy time, and wants to monitor her until she is 6 months from her actual due date.
Ali had fun playing with the PT and even smiled at her.

She is beginning to smile more.
She also smacks her lips... unintentionally of course.
Today was her first time to go to with Mommy & Daddy.
She wore a pretty pink dress, but we do not have any pictures to show for it because she pooped all over it during church. She had to be changed immediately of course.

Mimi finished the blanket she was making for Ali. Along with a pillow.

Also, Grandpa Glenn held Ali for the first time.
(He hasn't held her until now because he was afraid of getting her sick)
