1 Year and Counting

Ali... loving life even more.

Ali went to the doctor this past week to get her synergist shot.
She will get one every month for 5 months... basically during flu and RSV season.
(This is given for RSV, but is only given to high risk children.)

She weighed in at 18 lbs and 8 oz.
She's still growing!

Her hair is coming in too.
Ali has had 2 teeth come in.
Teething wasn't so bad at our house.
There was lots and lots and lots of drool, but other than that not too eventful.

We are grateful for uneventful times.

You can see her teeth here.
Her teeth have come in more so we'll have to post a recent picture later.

Ali has had a cold already this fall but she hardly acted sick at all.
She's such a happy baby!

We recently started putting shoes on her.
She likes shoes... and other people's shoes... and other people's feet.

Future Career: Podiatrist

Ali has really started moving around more over the last couple of weeks.

She can...
rotate in circles
push herself backwards
reach really far
and get up on her hands and knees.

She scooted herself underneath the chair.
She doesn't really like learning to crawl.
She would much rather stand and walk around.

She interacts with people more these days. She and Riley (the other little girl I keep) talk and laugh to each other all the time now.
Ali is also more vocal lately. Talking by way of screaming is becoming a favorite.

Funny story...
Ali was talking to Riley. Ali screamed at Riley (her attempt at communicating her excitement).
Riley crawls away crying because she thought Ali was yelling at her.
Result...
I have to explain to Riley that Ali is not so good a communicating just yet.
Then we had a class with Ali... Playtime 101-How to Play Nice.

She is really liking bath time more all the time.

Not sure what she is going for here...
She likes to:
splash mommy
scream
and clap because she splashed mommy and screamed.

Daddy took her to Aldridge Gardens in Hoover with his brother, niece, and dad. They had fun looking at the pretty flowers and spending time together.

Ali is turning 1!

She was amazed at all the people there... there were a lot of people.

She learned how to blow a few weeks before her party, but her cousin Jeffery had to help her blow out the candle.

Our cute birthday girl with mommy and daddy.

We made a chocolate cake and used cool whip for the frosting.
Then we used the fruit that she can eat for decoration.

She got so many fun presents and she loves all her new toys!

She really liked it... maybe too much.

Her birthday is actually Oct. 27th, so...

Happy Birthday to Ali this week!

Thoughts on a Monday night...

Adam works late, so mostly I think. I think about life, my family, and my Heavenly Father.
I think about how much my Heavenly Father must love me to bless me so abundantly.

These are some of my thoughts...

Life is hard, but worth it.
People can be mean, but there's good in everyone; we just have to look for it.
Everyone is important...because everyone is a child of God.
Anyone can be kind.
Everyone needs to be loved and know they are cared about.
Life is a gift.
Jesus Christ gave us the greatest gift of all...that of eternal life and the atonement.
Prayer is real and to be used during good and bad times in life.
Heavenly Father is just that, our Father and He wants to hear from us, He wants us to talk to Him.

I can't begin to express how truly blessed I feel.
I have a husband who loves me and has faith in me and tells me.
I have the sweetest little girl to call my own.
She melts my heart daily.
I hope I can be a good mom and teach her how to be a good, kind, decent person.
I hope she can live to accomplish her dreams and make a difference for good in other people's lives.
Mostly, I hope I can be good enough to teach her those things.

I can do anything I put my mind to.
I've been loosing weight, and I've realized inner strength, self control, and determination I never knew I had.
I've learned I had to have a desire to find that...no on else could show it to me.

Even though there are difficulties and trials, life is good. And don't let anybody tell you differently.

Do I look like a sick baby to you?

Ali has been sick this past week.

These are the things that she would complain about if she could talk:
head cold,
chest cold,
the start of an infection in one ear,
oh... the other ear as well,
and teething (yes, the bottom two have broken the surface).

She has been coughing really bad and has thrown up twice through out the experience.
The doctor prescribed her some medicine on Friday.
She is already showing signs of getting better, but she is still trying to recover from her hoarse voice.

But, she does not act very upset or fussy.

Ali continues to be pretty happy despite all of this.
She is so much fun.
She has recently learned a new game.
This was taken today.

We also gave her a cracker today to eat.
It was fun watching her try to eat it.
She did very well.

Her blue eyes really stand out in this photo below.

Always an adventure with this cutie.
