Jake is 3 Months

Jake is now 3 months
and he is loving life.

We wanted to share his 3 month pictures,
and
hopefully pass on some of the joy we get from seeing
his personality everyday.

Until next time,

sweet dreams, and

may your feet tread the roads of a long delight.

The Happy Life

We have been laughing more.

Jake smiling
We love all of the many
smiles and "ga-ga's"
we have been hearing from Jake.

While he does make us smile,
he also makes us stressed at times.

He has not been eating and
sleeping as well as we would like.

Sometimes that makes
Daddy and
especially Mommy go crazy.

I am trying to go with the flow more to ease the craziness kids bring into my life.
I'm definitely a work in progress though.

However, we recognize how blessed our life is;
from the precious smile of Ali when she sees ice cream
to the "bright eyed bushy tail" smile of Jake when he sees you after a long nap.

The joys of family are enumerable and
the trials that come while living a life together
intensifies the quality of our relationship and
our personal character.

Ali and daddy like to play a lot together
to enjoy the time they have.

Which has been a little less.

Ali gave daddy a kiss good night.

I have been doing my clinical rotations for
occupational therapy
at St. Vincent's East Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

I have had the majority of my patient caseload
in the inpatient rehab unit, and
I have recently switched to doing acute care.

I have really enjoyed being able to see the progress
patients can make while working with them towards their goals
to being more independent.

Here is a picture of some yummy zucchini boats we had this week.

Hair Styling, Reading, and Ice Cream Eating

Jake had a doctors appointment today for his reflux.
He weighs 14 lbs 14 oz and is 25 in. long.

He is one big boy.

We are hoping the increase in his medicine will help him nurse better so mommy doesn't go crazy.
Maybe he will sleep better during the day too.
Here's to hoping!

Ali has been more and more interested in her hair
and having pony tails.

Here she was fixing her hair with a mirror.

But then,

she decided to try and give Daddy a pony tail.

Ali has also been doing the Summer Reading Program with the local library.

If we read 10 books to her each week she gets a prize.
She has always loved to read, but she loves to go to the library now too.

She loves to put the books in the dropbox.

One week she got a free vanilla ice cream cone from Sonic.

It was a mess. :)

She has also learned to strap her baby doll in Jake's car seat.

She was pretty proud of herself.

Ali is talking more and more.

I'm grateful Adam and I use good language because Ali is repeating a lot of things we say, like:

"Oh gosh!" (She says this for anything really because everything is shocking to her)
"Pretty please" (but it sounds like "plitty please")
"I'm coming!"
"Good morning" (at all hours of the day)
"I told you to stop."
"Remember? Remember?"
"Look at me!"
"Sweet boy" or "Hey buddy"
and
"Hey Jake!!" whenever she feels the sudden urge to see him

She keeps us on our toes, but she sure is sweet.

All Things Funny

We are behind in posts,

but

we will make it up to you with some funny things
that have been happening.

First,
we will let you get a smile seeing this little man
smiling at you.

Jake is smiling and cooing
every time he sees Mommy and Daddy.
He loves to talk.

I think Mommy gets him to smile more.

We have also had Ali walk instead of ride in the cart at stores sometimes.
When she walks,
she likes to stay connected, as you can see.
She won't let go of the cart.

Ali is enjoying pony tails.

Here she is sporting one of the first
pony tails she had with
a yellow ribbon and yellow shirt.

This was the night of her first sleepover. She stayed at Aunt Amy's house with lots of her cousins. She had a blast!

On the same note of styles...

Sometimes Jake and Daddy
pick out the same clothes...

without planning it.

Like this day.

Jodi dressed him,
and then I walked out of our room,
and viola, we matched on accident.

Ali has been having a lot of fun at the park.

Including trying to play
hopscotch at the park with older kids.

And as always,
she likes to swing with Daddy pushing.

Blessings...

We feel so blessed.
Jake was blessed at church.

It was such a spiritual and joyful day.
It is so comforting to know that we will be together forever...

because families are forever.

A lot of our extended family came to the blessing.

And for once in a long time my family was able to get together for one big family picture.

We love our children so much.
They have become a very important part of our lives...,
and we love it.
