Water Works

The other day we discovered a leak in our shower, and
it was causing damage to the wall.

We tried to fix it...
we failed to fix it, so
I rigged it.

This is what you get when you try to rig it....
Or when I rig it.

Plastic wrap all around the pipes to get the water to fall into the shower.

No, no, no.... there is no need for an applause.

Dinner Time & Funny Faces

We have fun at dinner time...

We were eating strawberries with cool whip, and
we decided to take some pictures of our funny faces.

Ali doesn't do funny faces on command yet,
but she does like to smile.

She also likes to clean....

However, Ali was not too keen on
watching mommy get to dip her finger into
the cool whip bowl and not get any for herself.

So, moral of the story...
Keep smiling...
You'll live longer.

Ali's Night Out

Ali has been doing pretty good about going back to bed...
after she has already gotten up and played after
we have put her down for the night.

However, Sunday night..

this is what we found,

right outside our bedroom door.

More 5k Training

Saturday I ran another 5k, but

this time I had these.

My new Mizuno Wave Nirvana 8's.

I got them through help from my awesome sister-in-law, who
is a running enthusiast. See her blog here.
You should follow it.

I completed the 5.03 km in 33 min and 17 sec.,
which is not my best time, but
I did not have any blisters after the run like I have been getting with my old shoes.

Have you ever completed a 5k, 10k, or marathon?
What is your fastest time?
(Comment below)

Happy running to all the runners out there.

A Morning in the Park

Here some pictures of Ali at the park yesterday.

This play set was the best because she could maneuver it all on her own.

Up this side...

And down the other.

Here you can see her moving to the slide...

She went around and around to go down the slide on her own,
over,
and over,
and over again.

At one point she even met a friend,

who taught her to get the wood chips on the ground and put them up on the play set ledge (see picture).

Ali watched her at first, and then proceeded to do it on her own.

She also got to see some flowers.

It was a fun day.

Our 4th of July

We hope everyone had a great Independence week.

We discovered on the 4th that Ali was feeling a little sick.

She got all worked up for the food at Grandpa & Grandma's house

and got herself a fever.

While Mimi did not like her granddaughter being sick,
she still did not mind getting some time to cuddle and rock her.

After cuddling some we went over to Mimi's house for her to nap some more... AND

eat some more.

Here Ali is running around after getting a bite of cookie from Mimi.

Ali slept about 7 hours total just in naps during the day.

However, she bounced right back after a couple of days,
And she is back to the usual...
being funny and laughing all the time.

Like, having fun with all of her stuffed animals and dolls in her bed.
Of course daddy helped put them all on top of her.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!

We hope everyone takes time to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy!

Here is your serving of Ali today...
at the zoo.

She was not extremely interested in the animals, but
the outing kept her eyes busy looking at everything with that serious face of hers.
We wonder...
what is that child thinking when she looks at things so intently.

We went to the zoo a couple of weeks ago with my mom and niece, Rubi.
We met up with Becky too, but didn't get any pictures of her.

It seems like it was nap time at the zoo because all the animals were sleeping!

Ali agreed about the nap time business...
As you can tell I don't think she smiled the whole time we were there.

Ali, Grandma Glenn, and Rubi after our train ride.

Out of everything, Ali liked the train the best.

Rubi got a fun coloring book at the souvenir shop and when we got to the car Ali had a frog in her lap.

Lesson we'll learn this week...
Stealing = Jail Time

She decided this was the best way to ride in the stroller...

She was not sure what to think of the water, but it sure cooled her off.

Ali's wise thoughts for the 4th of July:

Stay cool out there and eats lots of good food!
