1 '

I sat down to do a blog today, and I said, "What to say about you baby girl?" looking at Ali.
And I said, speaking for Ali, "Say, I'm cute."

We are enjoying parenthood.
Yesterday, I was feeding Ali, and apparently I did not burp her enough.
See this picture...

... it is the distance that Ali can spit up all over Daddy.
I had her sitting on my lap, and she spit straight up at me and went all over my shirt and the shorts that I had on.

Ali is holding her head up alot on her own.

One night this week, after a few days of a lot of school reading and a lot of work, I took a picture of Adam asleep with Ali.

(A sleepy boy and a sleepy girl)

Last night we had date night at home: food from Guadalajara, shows from Hulu.com, and
just the three of us.

Ali fell asleep while we were watching shows.

Ali has started loosing some of her hair on top of her head.

Today... we go to the park.
Another adventure.

Post for Mommy

Ali had fun waking up early today.
She woke up at 3:30 am to eat and stayed up until 5:30 am.

I am trying to keep her awake during the day so that she will sleep at night.
Hopefully it will work.

I guess she woke up early to get more time with mommy, but she really should do that at a better time.

The Oldest & The Youngest

Ali got another visit from someone in the family today.
We present to you the oldest and the youngest grandchild in the family.
Nick and Ali.

Ali is sporting our favorite sleeper: the purple fugitive sleeper. :)
She wears it because she can't leave home.

Yesterday I went and stocked up on our food supply.
Here is our stock piled cabinet.

Swinging Ali

Today we broke out the swing to see how Ali liked it.
It was pretty much uneventful.

She is pretty content in the mornings so she just sat there and looked around.

Also, her Aunt Wendy finally came to see her for the first time.
(Wendy opted out for the photo-op)

I took Ali to the doctor yesterday and she got her shot and actually had tears when she cried.

A Post for Daddy

Ali went to the pediatrician again today.

She weighed 7 lbs 6 oz.
She got some more shots as well.
Ali will stay on the NeoSure formula until 6 months old.
She continues to do well.

This morning Ali woke up screaming after being fed. Mommy was too tired from feeding her all night and going to bed late. Daddy said he would get up to see what was wrong.
I picked up Ali and she immediately went limp and fell asleep after holding her for 5 seconds.
I think she just wanted Daddy to come say hi for a second. I put her back to bed and put myself back to bed.

Us in Every Footstep ... in Snow!

(Sorry for no posts this week. We are getting adjusted to parenthood and my new school schedule this semester. Lot's of reading to do.)

Jodi's snow angel

Here is Jodi having fun spinning in the snow.

We had a great time enjoying the snow here in Alabama.

So did the 4-wheel-drive vehicles that made some doughnuts in the Lowe's parking lot.

My work was closed due to the weather which meant I was able to watch the Auburn vs. Oregon game on Monday. War Eagle!!!

If you want to see some amazing pictures of the event visit the following website:

Ali continues to do well.

Look close and you can see her dimples.

We weighed her at home today .... approximately 7 lbs!
We are not sure of the accuracy because it was with a postal scale.

It's All About Love

Mommy decided to start breaking out the cute outfits instead of wearing sleepers all the time.

Today she is sporting a grey with polka dots, a pink shirt covered in hearts, and has attached long sleeves which show off her love for Mommy.

We are prepared for the possible ice storm for today/tomorrow, if it comes.

Another Semester

Ali staring off into the great abyss after eating.

Ali has been doing well.
Ali has switched formulas. Instead of Alimentum, she is taking NeoSure.
The switch was not to problematic. She has to burp more, if she doesn't she spits everything up.
We have gotten to be very coordinated at keeping her spit up on her burp cloth and our clothes instead of furniture. :)
Also, we noticed when changing her diapers that the formula made ... on second thought, I'll skip that part.

She is doing good though and is gaining weight. We are not sure how much though. We will be going for another doctors appointment this month, and we will give an updated weight then.

I have started another semester. One of my hardest. I will be studying Proust's novel A Search of Lost Time, it will require alot of time.
Getting closer to the end though. I will graduate in December 2011.

Photo Shoot

Ali has been doing great and is eating 60-85 mL's every 4 hours.
Today was our first Sunday with Ali home. Since she can't go out in public yet (Doc's orders), we had to do some juggling to be able to attend the meetings that we needed to while still having someone with Ali at home.

I went to a meeting this morning before church started at 8:30, and then I went back home to stay with Ali.
Then I went to church for the first two hours of our church services, and then I went back home to stay with Ali.
I then returned to church for the third hour to teach a class, and then I went back home.
It's good that we only live 5 minutes away from the church.

Here is a video of Ali with the hiccups after I finished feeding her while Jodi was at church.

We see more and more expressions from her everyday.
Mommy also has a fun time putting Ali in different positions while she is asleep.

Today we did a photo shoot with Ali. She was great for her first time and very cute.

And that is our miracle baby that we love so much.

A New Year & A New Adventure

We are enjoying every minute of being together... at home (instead of the hospital).
Ali is still doing well; eating, sleeping, eating, sleeping, and cuddling with Mommy and Daddy.

Mimi and Grandma both have had their first time to hold Ali and to babysit.
It was apparent they enjoyed every minute of it.

We hope this new year brings many memories, smiles, and blessings.
And of course many diapers.
